Dresden, March 11, 2026 – DUALIS GmbH IT Solution and montratec GmbH have expanded their collaboration. montratec is part of the CMCO Conveyance Solutions business unit of the international Columbus McKinnon Corporation (CMCO). As part of this partnership, a configuration tool based on the 3D simulation platform Visual Components was developed specifically to meet montratec’s requirements. The tool enables layouts to be planned easily and intuitively and, if required, simulated directly. In addition to employees of CMCO’s Conveyance business, the configurator is also available to customers and integrators worldwide.

DUALIS has been a Visual Components sales partner for 20 years and specializes in customer-specific software adaptations. While the standard platform offers a wide range of simulation and design capabilities, DUALIS designed a solution for montratec that is precisely aligned with the company’s own products and processes. The configurator developed by DUALIS is available worldwide to montratec employees, customers, and integrators.

Digital component library for the entire project life cycle

The configurator is based on a component library developed by DUALIS within Visual Components. This library digitally represents the entire montratec product portfolio, including sensor technology, control logic, and automated workflows. As a result, layouts can not only be configured but also simulated and validated in a highly realistic manner.

Even at an early stage of customer engagement, the configurator offers significant advantages for marketing, sales, and quotation preparation. High-quality visualizations, animations, and videos generated from the simulations can be used for brochures, trade fairs, or social media. Sales teams also benefit by presenting customer-specific layouts in 2D, 3D, or VR, helping to build trust and simplify the communication of technical concepts. As projects progress, the tool supports engineering, service, and commissioning. Reusable components and simulations help shorten project timelines, reduce errors, and improve implementation quality.

Blueprint for customer-specific configurators with simulation capability

With this jointly developed solution, DUALIS and montratec have created a blueprint for customer-specific configurators based on Visual Components. It demonstrates how companies can lower the barrier to entry in layout planning through targeted platform customization while simultaneously opening up new digital business models.

Expansion across the entire conveyance portfolio

The collaboration is set to continue. montratec is currently working on integrating the entire CMCO conveyance portfolio into Visual Components. The goal is to digitally represent additional products and system solutions and make them available for planning and simulation.

Implementation is largely carried out by montratec itself, while DUALIS provides consulting support, particularly for larger projects involving capacity expansions and for specific technical topics.
