Dresden, November 16, 2023 – Production Data Acquisition (PDA) and the feedback of this data to the Advanced Planning System (APS) is essential in the production planning process. This allows you to map the reality of the store floor in real time and adjust production plans immediately. The new Confirmation Client is a PDA functionality embedded in the APS GANTTPLAN for real-time feedback of all planning-relevant process steps such as material provision, construction and packaging. It is now available as a HTML-5 web client in GANTTPLAN.

To enable informed and right decisions, detailed information has to be available to production planners – including production data. Production data acquisition is the basis for being able to react quickly to short-term and unplanned disruptions from the shop floor, such as machine breakdowns, non-delivery of preliminary products or non-release of intermediate products by quality assurance, and to adapt detailed scheduling accordingly. Because in many industries, companies rely on flexible production scheduling.

Adapt production plans on an ad hoc basis

With DUALIS GANTTPLAN APS, realistic production plans can be created simply at the touch of a button. This is done depending on all available resources and their capacities and is synchronized with the central ERP and MES system.

The embedded GANTTPLAN Confirmation Client is 100 percent real-time capable, which enables ad hoc adjustments to production plans. It overwrites all planning data affected by the confirmations. The aim is to map the reality of the shop floor in real time as simply and flexibly as possible and to continuously feed back the information for real-time adjustment of the scheduling runs.

“An existing PDA/MDC or MES infrastructure does not necessarily have to be designed for the confirmation of relevant scheduling processes and workstations or for simultaneous confirmation in different systems. The web-based GANTTPLAN Confirmation Client forms the bridge here. It subsumes all scheduling-relevant PDA functionalities in an integrated tool of the APS software,” explains Heike Wilson, Managing Director of DUALIS GmbH IT Solution.

The HTML5 web application can be managed and updated centrally. This allows to carry out updates and maintenance work, for example, without having to install special software updates on each end device.
